Long ago, there seemed to be a set of unwritten fashion mantras looming over ladies as they dressed each morning. “Don’t do this and don’t do that!” women thought to themselves as they put together an outfit.
Lucky for us fashion lovers nowadays, rules are meant to be broken. In an effort to retain some semblance of originality, these old fashioned fundamentals have now become a way to add creativity to your outfit.
So lets discuss the top five fashion rules to break:

On to the rules!

1. No white after Labor Day
While white sandals probably aren’t your best bet come fall, white clothing should not be shelved once August is over! White jeans are one of the chicest options. Paired with a blazer and button down, you have an outfit that transcends the seasons.

2. Don’t mix prints
This one can be a bit tricky, but by keeping with prints in a similar size or color palette, it can be a great look.

3. Don’t wear silver and gold jewelry together
This is personally my favorite rule to break. I love piling on silver and gold chain necklaces or bangles together to add texture to an otherwise basic outfit.

4. Wearing bold, shimmery jewelry in the daytime is a no, no.
Actually, dramatic jewelry for day is a definite yes! Add a fashionista twist to jeans and a t-shirt by throwing on a big necklace.

5. Avoid clashing colors together
If you’re ready to turn heads, try an unexpected mix of color. These neon leggings will definitely make any outfit bolder.

Remember, fashion is supposed to be fun! Don’t let any rules drag you down. Try things on and figure out what works best for you.
